In a Nut Shell . . .Mexico Well, I haven’t actually had the past three weeks off. Travis, Ray Ray and myself all made the trip down to Mexico City a couple of weeks ago to the Busch race. Busch racing is where I started out, so it’s always cool to go through the garage and see who is still around. Of course, things change every year and there are a lot of new faces there. We went down to pit the car for Michael and it was definitely an interesting trip. We just flew race day so I was only gone for the day. No time to site-see or anything, but not sure if I would have wanted to. The track was pretty nice and road courses are always a challenge – especially on pit stops since everything is reverse from normal. We really didn’t have to do too much, the guys on the Busch team set up the pits, got the car through inspection, etc. Our main focus was to pit the car. We got one stop in before Michael had an accident and our day was over early. At least I can say I went and that trip marked the second time I have raced outside of the United States. I was able to go to Japan back in 97’ when NASCAR raced over there. That trip was a blast!! |
